Many different cultural and fun activities are incorporated into all our programmes.
Naturally, a big emphasis is placed on Irish cultural activities – Irish dancing, Celtic drawing, stained glass window design, Irish basket weaving, and feadóg lessons, among others. The feadóg is a traditional Irish musical instrument like the tin whistle; all students get to take home their feadóg as a memory of Ireland. There are also sports activities including swimming in the local indoor heated pool, uni-hockey, football, basketball, volleyball, rounders and many more.
Other fun activities include bowling, trips to the cinema, fun sports days with prizes, a treasure hunt to get to know the local area, bingo, and class parties.
Different types of day trips and tours are offered depending on availability and season. These include trips to nearby attractions such as Belvedere House or the Heritage Park at Dún na Sí in Moate, or full-day tours further afield. These full-day tours include shopping time in the cities as well as an excursion to locations of historical or cultural interest. Every tour is fun, but each also has its own cultural and educational aspects.
